It’s been a few years since I’ve taken a “non-traditional” vacation. The last one was in October of 2023, where I took part in the Rickshaw Run Sri Lanka with Ryan, who has also been on the Monkey Run Morocco (2019) and of course the Mongol Rally (2017).
Thankfully this time around it took zero effort to find a teammate brave (dumb?) enough to take on another one of these adventures. All I had to do was walk to another room and ask my bestie/roommate Jake if he felt like doing something silly. Huzzah!
This will be my fourth trip with the organizing group The Adventurists. I’ve been a little wary of this particular flavor of motoring stupidity, given part of it will be extremely remote and that rickshaws are not common in the Himalayas – for good reason. But, to quote the 21st century Canadian poet:
